Lecce
About 60 km from the Tenuta is Lecce, the Baroque capital of Salento. Lecce, often called the "Florence of the South," is a city that mesmerizes with its uniqueness and charming atmosphere. As you stroll through the streets, you enter a world full of art and charm, where every building holds an ancient story.
Don't forget to taste the traditional local specialties such as pasticciotto (pastry) and rustico (snack made with puff pastry)!
Otranto
Otranto (50 km) is perched above the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. Strolling through its narrow cobblestone streets, you can feel an almost magical atmosphere of bygone days. The historic center, surrounded by strong Aragonese walls, is home to the majestic Aragonese Castle, an imposing building designed to defend the city that has witnessed centuries of sieges and conquests.

Historic Villages of Salento
Visit Felline, a tiny village with a quiet, ancient charm, with a small square full of traditional restaurants.
Then move on to Ugento, where there is the 1700s Cathedral, built on the ancient remains of a Gothic cathedral. Also not to be missed are the Castle of Ugento and the Colosso Museum. The area around Ugento is also perfect if you love hiking, thanks to the multitude of trails located between country and coastal areas.

After Ugento, you can also visit Acquarica del Capo, a charming medieval village that is home to the underground olive oil mill, the ruins of which you can visit.
Finally, don't miss the famous Santa Maria di Leuca: located at the extreme tip of the heel of Italy, this is where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet. The town is a real gem nestled in the rock that offers attractions such as the Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Leuca, which is legendary and offers mesmerizing views of the sea.
